The Brand
EnduroBrand is a venture created by Chris Bradle, a Competitive Runner & Purveyor of Endurance Brands.
Over 20 years ago a young distance runner sprouted roots while competing in a Junior High Cross-Country meet. Back then the seeming challenge was overcoming bouts of childhood asthma and facing down under-developed athletic abilities. After years of training, racing, success, failure, victory and defeat in the running arena, a working career was poised to enter the picture. This career was not running miles but endurance of another genre, running a design studio in Charlotte, North Carolina – Eye Design Studio.
Tandem to starting the venture of Eye Design Studio, the long road to developing as a mid-20-year-old competitive marathon runner began. What started as a quest to qualify and run in Boston, has steadily evolved to push the edge of how much one can endure and at what pace. Then a big question started to emerge, “Is it possible for the branding-enthusiast designer within me to intersect with my passion for the endurance sports – primarily running?”
It would seem quite simple to begin approaching all endurance driven companies and pitching the services of my studio. Within this path of thinking the search started for what makes me personally so different than most agency types. Then the obvious hit me. I both love and live endurance sports. Who better to market, brand, design or communicate about endurance products than a lover of the sports who’s actively living in the arena.
During the brainstorming process, the idea of starting Run-Commuting emerged. It seemed a little lateral and almost unrelated to the initial thoughts of steering my design studio directly at endurance products, but loosely tied. While competing in the running segment of the White Lake Half Ironman in May 2009 it became clear how they connect. EnduroBrand.
EnduroBrand is my new venture initially focused on dialogue about training for a life of endurance competition for the segment of runners spanning just behind the elites to the middle of the pack, while promoting the company’s products that keep us all running. On EnduroBrand, you will see the evolution of a branding idea first hand. Weekly training updates and tips. Unbiased product reviews for some of the best endurance products on the earth. Sharing branding project case studies as EnduroBrand creative services emerge. While the first project is Run-Commuting there are many more miles and ideas ahead. You’re invited to follow along and enjoy this adventure.
How can EnduroBrand pour creative fuel into your brand? It’s worth finding out.
